How-to Project
Note: the EDPE how-to projects notoriously are way too big of a file size to work in Foliotek
because they include video and/or big image files. Removing the videos and extra images will lower the file size and let them load quicker for any online environment.
The how-to project can be displayed a few different ways:
Steps to display the PowerPoint file:
- Select the FILES tab in the editing toolbox
- Select the PowerPoint file or upload and then select it
- Click in the portfolio page where you would like to place the file
- Select the 'inline' option to display the show on the page (note: the inline tool only works for files under 10mb)
Steps to convert a PPT to a slide show for a portfolio page:
- Open your PowerPoint file
- Click on File and Save as JPEG (for a Mac, click export and select the JPEG file format
- The program will make a folder with an image of each page in the presentation
- Upload the images to Foliotek (easiest by uploading to the file folder in the top toolbar first - it will allow you to upload all images at once instead of individually)
- Select the Gizmo tab in the toolbox when editing in Foliotek and then click on the slideshow option
- Add your images to the slideshow
